Introducing the KAMM 912c Targa: A Modern Classic with Soft-Window Targa Style

KAMManufaktur proudly announces the launch of its new model, the 912c Targa. This model features the anticipated lightweight purity synonymous with KAMM, now in a sought-after soft-window Targa body style.

Renowned globally, the KAMM 912c stands out for its lightweight, high-quality build, classic aesthetics, and exhilarating performance. In an era dominated by electronic driving aids, the KAMM 912c allows drivers to reclaim a genuinely analogue experience.

As production and delivery of the KAMM 912c gain momentum worldwide, founder Miklos Kazmer often encounters one persistent query: Will there be an open-roof version? Known for his commitment to authenticity, Kazmer confirms that if a 912c were to have an open top, it would indeed feature a soft-window Targa design.

In the mid-1960s, the US considered banning convertible cars for safety reasons. Although this ban was never implemented, it introduced a roll hoop, a removable central roof section, and a rear window on the 912. From 1967, a glass rear window became optional, making the soft-window Targa the definitive original open 912.

Kazmer states, "The KAMM 912c is now crafted for clients globally, from the US to Australia and across Europe to the Far East. Many clients reside in regions with favourable weather and seek the full KAMM experience. With this in mind, I designed the KAMM 912c Targa. True to its soft-window Targa roots, it maintains its classic originality while embodying the essence of KAMM."

A unique one-off version of the 912c Targa is now available to mark the launch. This exclusive model is based on a meticulously restored and re-engineered 1968 soft-window 912 Targa, originally from the EU with Belgian papers. It is completed in period Tangerine paintwork, featuring a tobacco leather interior with Porsche Pasha inserts.

KAMM aluminium steel-look wheels, Cibie spotlights, a KAMM carbon roof rack, and a special KAMM surfboard distinguish this car. The interior includes a high-quality audio system, among other discretely integrated features.

Kazmer adds, "Launching with this unique model was essential. The 912c Targa thrives both on the streets and the track, perfectly blending performance and leisure for an exhilarating drive to the beach."

Like the 912c coupe, each donor car is meticulously restored and re-engineered to serve as the ideal base for the KAMM 912c Targa. The Targa features carbon fibre panels, including the iconic rollover hoop bearing the Targa badge, and lightweight, scratch-resistant Lexan polycarbonate windows.

KAMM engineers have dedicated countless hours to subtly reinforcing the body using advanced automotive technology, ensuring the car maintains its rigidity during dynamic driving. An FIA-specification roll cage is also available.

All KAMM models, including the 912c Targa, feature an upgraded 2.0-litre air-cooled engine that delivers 185hp and 205Nm of torque, with 170Nm accessible from just 2,000rpm. The five-speed dogleg transmission offers a choice of gear ratios, and a Porsche hydraulic racing clutch connects to a limited-slip differential.

Each 912c Targa is custom-built to the buyer’s specifications, with unlimited paint, interior, and technical details options.

The exclusive launch edition KAMM 912c Targa is priced at €395,000, with worldwide delivery options available.
