Unveiling Excellence: The 2025 Aston Martin Vantage Roadster

Aston Martin has unveiled the 2025 Vantage Roadster, a convertible companion to the trailblazing Vantage Coupe. Launched in 2024, the new Vantage Roadster epitomises luxury and dynamic prowess, surpassing all previous models in capability and engagement. It enhances the authentic driving experience to new heights.

Equipped with Aston Martin’s 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine, the Vantage Roadster delivers 665PS/800Nm. It offers leading performance, dynamic sensations, the coupe's visual thrill, and the exhilarating freedom of open-top driving. This model elevates the unforgettable driving journey, broadening the appeal of this quintessentially modern British sports car.

The Vantage Roadster has been meticulously designed to combine style, freedom, and adventure without the usual convertible compromises. As visually striking as the coupe, it features the fastest fully automatic roof on the market, minimal weight gain, and uncompromised aesthetics, making it an exceptional addition to the Vantage family.

Aston Martin celebrates the iconic Vantage lineage, marking 75 years since the DB2's Vantage engine upgrade in 1950. This year also marks the 20th anniversary of the V8 Vantage, the first modern Aston Martin from Gaydon, introduced in 2005, with its distinct Roadster variant following shortly after.

Aston Martin’s CEO Adrian Hallmark states, “The new Vantage delivers unparalleled performance and is recognised as a leading sports car. The Vantage Roadster mirrors this with a reinvented driving experience, maintaining the coupe’s benefits without compromising on refinement or performance, thanks to our engineering and dynamics teams’ meticulous efforts.”

The Vantage Roadster maintains crucial dynamic traits of the coupe, having been designed and engineered alongside it. This parallel development ensures no compromise on performance, handling, or additional weight.

The upgraded 4.0-litre V8 engine in the Vantage Roadster now boasts an increase of 155PS and 115Nm, thanks to larger turbochargers and optimised engine components. With a total output of 665PS and 800Nm, directed through an eight-speed paddle-shift transmission and a rear-wheel-drive setup, the Roadster achieves explosive performance — accelerating from 0-60mph in just 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 202mph. The convertible design allows drivers to enjoy the V8 engine's roar more intensely.

The Roadster offers an ideal base for precision handling with its lightweight aluminium structure and composite body panels. Its advanced suspension components and tailored chassis settings ensure exceptional balance and driver confidence.

Innovative technology underpins the Vantage Roadster, from advanced traction control settings to bespoke tyre development with Michelin, enhancing grip and driving dynamics in all conditions.

Simon Newton, Director of Vehicle Performance, remarks, “Developing the Vantage Coupe and Roadster simultaneously allowed us to maintain the model's dynamic capabilities and sporting character without compromise, providing an exhilarating open-air driving experience.”

The Vantage Roadster’s design ensures it retains the coupe's striking aesthetics whether the roof is raised or lowered. The roof’s innovative ‘Z-fold’ mechanism is quick and light, enhancing the car's performance by keeping minimal weight gain and maintaining a low centre of gravity.

Aston Martin’s bespoke infotainment system, designed in-house, complements the Vantage Roadster’s luxurious interior. It provides seamless connectivity and intuitive control for an enhanced driving experience.

The Vantage Roadster, which will begin deliveries in Q2 2025, joins a prestigious lineup that includes the DB12, Vanquish, DBX707, and the upcoming Valhalla. It will solidify Aston Martin’s position as a leader in luxury sports cars.
