JAECOO Launches Revolutionary Off-Road SUV at Goodwood Festival of Speed

JAECOO, the new off-road brand, will make its European debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from 11 to 14 July. The company will showcase its inaugural model, the JAECOO 7, alongside its sister brand OMODA on a dedicated stand in the main manufacturer exhibition area, known as 'The Grid', and also in the First Glance Paddock at Goodwood.

The JAECOO 7, a premium SUV, combines superb off-road performance, efficiency, and style with a spacious, technology-rich interior. Attendees at Goodwood can explore the new model and enjoy traditional Chinese soft drinks at JAECOO's stand. The Duke of Richmond will officially welcome the brand to Europe at a midday event on Thursday, 11 July. Embodying JAECOO's philosophy of "From Classic, Beyond Classic", former F1 racer and 1970 Le Mans winner Richard Attwood will pilot the JAECOO 7 up the iconic Goodwood hill, marking the SUV's dynamic public debut in Europe.

JAECOO commits to innovation, blending exceptional four-wheel-drive capabilities, top-tier safety, and cutting-edge technologies across its SUV range. These vehicles thrive in both urban and off-road settings, thanks to the global expertise of teams from Europe and China. JAECOO, part of Chery International—China's top vehicle exporter for over two decades—draws its name from the German "Jäger" (hunter) and the English "cool", signifying its all-environment adaptability. With extensive experience from a significant joint venture in off-roading, JAECOO stands as a testament to timeless design.

The JAECOO 7 offers both front- and four-wheel drive options and features a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine with a 7-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission by Getrag. Future plug-in hybrid and electric models are planned.

Designed for versatility, the JAECOO 7 excels on any terrain thanks to its 600 mm wading depth and seven drive modes including Sand, Mud, Snow, and Off-Road. It boasts approach and departure angles of 21 and 29 degrees, respectively, with a maximum breakover angle of 200 mm. Its four-wheel drive models include a Bosch-developed brake system that enhances locking capabilities for rapid response.

The JAECOO 7's design features sleek lines, bold details, and a large waterfall grille that asserts a luxurious presence. Its aerodynamically efficient build includes flush-fitting door handles and a full-length rear light bar that accentuates its broad stance.

Inside, the JAECOO 7 offers a blend of luxury and advanced technology with a large touchscreen, digital instrument panel, head-up display, and multi-colour lighting. Safety is paramount, with a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems and a body constructed from 80% high-strength steel, ensuring global 5-star safety standards.

The JAECOO 7 will be available through over 70 dealer sites across the UK, with plans to expand to 100 by year-end, supported by major dealer groups. Pre-reservations are now open, with priority placements available upon the announcement of prices and the opening of order books in autumn. First UK deliveries are expected in late 2024.
